Geoff Mesher FCA, MAE

Geoff is an experienced expert witness, having given evidence on over 30 occasions, in civil, criminal and family cases. His expertise has been sought in respect of loss of profits and business valuation. He has also led many fraud investigations and asset tracing exercises.
Geoff is an experienced forensic accountant. He worked for KPMG for 17 years and also spent 2½ years as a Forensic Partner with Grant Thornton. He formed Tempest Forensic Accounting UK LLP with Caroline and Karen in March 2013.
Geoff carries out forensic accounting and investigation work. He has produced many expert reports and worked on numerous loss of profit and valuation engagements arising from a wide range of commercial, matrimonial and other disputes. He has also acted as expert in criminal matters relating to fraud. He is also particularly experienced in the quantification of warranty and indemnity insurance claims as well as other transaction disputes with respect to warranty claims, completion accounts and earn outs, also carrying out expert determinations in this field.
He is a Member of the Academy of Experts and a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Outside of work Geoff enjoys wargaming and is an avid Chelsea supporter.

Examples of Key Experience
- Advising insurers on Warranty and Indemnity claims; acting as expert in warranty cases. Geoff gave evidence in the High Court in the reported Ageas v KwikFit (UK) Ltd warranty and indemnity case.
- Calculation of consequential loss arising from the mis-sale of Interest Rate Hedging Products (IRHP). Engagements have dealt with clients in the FCA Redress Scheme and in litigation. Geoff was an expert accounting witness in the Property Alliance Group v RBS (reported case) and the Wall v RBS cases, as well as in numerous others.
- Romal Capital (CO2) Limited v Peel L & P (Ports) Limited – Geoff gave expert evidence in the Business & Property Court of the High Court in Liverpool. Geoff’s work included a calculation of potential losses from the Claimant’s claimed loss of a chance to build a larger residential scheme in the Liverpool Docks.
